Become a local host
We work with people who live in their city, not just visit it, to build itineraries that travellers actually trust.
The ideal Sotto host isn't a travel blogger or influencer. They're someone who lives and breathes city life, has formed strong opinions about it, and can explain what makes a neighbourhood, a restaurant, or a morning walk worth doing.
You should be curious and articulate: someone who can describe a place the way you'd describe it to a friend visiting for the first time. Actual, specific recommendations, not a list of the same spots everyone else recommends.
Most importantly: you should care about helping independent travellers have a more authentic experience. That's the whole point.

How it works
Send us a short intro email
Tell us who you are, which city you know, and what makes your local knowledge worth following. Send it to hello@sotto.travel.
We get on a call
A 20-minute conversation about how you move through your city, what you think travellers get wrong, and how you'd approach building an itinerary. We're not looking for polish. We're looking for genuine perspective.
Create two trial itineraries
We'll ask you to review and shape two itinerary drafts for different kinds of travellers in your city. The drafts are generated by AI based on real customer preferences. Your job is to bring the local knowledge that makes them accurate, specific, and worth following.
Welcome to the team
If the itineraries feel right, we bring you on as a Sotto host. From there, you write on a flexible schedule, and we handle the rest.
Hosts are paid a fee for each itinerary they create. It's a straightforward arrangement: you invoice your work at the end of each month, and we pay promptly. There are no fixed commitments on either side: you write when you have capacity, and we commission work when there's demand in your city.
